My Build is a native iOS app that helps people with renovation or build projects manage their budget, time, and paperwork in one simple-to-use format. My Build has everything one would need to keep a project on track. Less stress, less confusion, less chaos. An app that truly helps manage an entire project from start to finish.

I lead design on the first Australian app that truly helps manage an entire renovation or build project from start to finish. An app that eventually would win awards.

I lead design on the first Australian app that truly helps manage an entire renovation or build project from start to finish. An app that eventually would win awards.

THE APPROACH

We held a number of workshops to look at the app idea, company name, features for the app and the brand look and feel. The final name ‘MyBuild’ was confirmed, the ABN and URLs were purchased and the brand was designed. All of the agreed ideas were also confirmed and adjusted after validation by user tests to ensure that the brand and the final product would be received well and the features in the app solve a problem.

THE APPROACH

The final name ‘MyBuild’ was confirmed, the ABN and URLs purchased and the brand was designed to follow the personas of the expected users. All of the agreed ideas were also confirmed and adjusted after validation by user test to ensure that the brand and the final product would be received well and the features in the app solve a problem, would be useful and that the app would have good retention rates.

Feedback is a crucial element of success. The more real-life experience I gain the more I realise how important the concept of feedback is for becoming a better human, designer and for creating valuable experiences. Feedback drives change and through change achieving the desired result becomes possible. Sharing the problems we are solving with stakeholders and selected users of the product is the only way to gain higher quality in the end product. It also ensures we are moving in the right direction.
